Timberland PRO Men’s 53534 Titan Safety-Toe Slip-On

During my years as a boot enthusiast, I’ve often found that the ones that look the best are normally the least comfortable. In fact, when it comes to slip-on work boots, I usually go for the ones that feel comfortable after trying them out and worry later about how they look on my feet. Worst case scenario being that they turn out to be average in the looks department. The Timberland PRO Men’s 53534 was a refreshing relief for me, not only did it fit well from the word go but was stylish to boot (pun intended). Soft brown leather with a full grain finish, oiled to resist water and designed for longevity, these slip on work boots are super comfortable for daily use.

As for the inside, it comes with mesh lining, a breathable fitting and ergonomic features that help maintain the temperature while preventing moisture from seeping in. The midsoles are made of polyurethane that adds to the shock absorption feature, which additionally makes these boots rugged as well. The shanks are low with lightweight nylon padding to help decrease muscle strain and the footbeds can be removed for maintenance.

Some of the interesting features that make these Timberland slip on boots for men special are:

  • Lightweight construction with Polyurethane midsoles for cushioning and durability.
  • Minimal break-in time with soft leather and Nylon diffusion shanks.
  • Rubber outsoles with slip, oil and abrasion resistance.
  • TITAN Alloy toe box offers comfortable fit with increased protection.
  • Contoured foot bed, anti-microbial protection and temperature regulation.

The Pros

Like I said before, the biggest advantage of the Timberland PRO slip on men’s work boots is that they are lightweight, comfortable and yet stylish. Another benefit is the overall size of the boots. They are in fact not too large, which means I can carry them on trips and as for protection, it has got enough features to keep me safe from most work site hazards. I can’t really compare it with a steel toe full sized boot but they are way more protective than average daily wear.

For me the deal-maker was 53534’s zero break-in period. In fact, if it wasn’t for the shine and the lack of scuffs, I might have forgotten that the boots were brand new. First day of use and it fit like a dream, no pain, no discomfort, nothing! Two weeks past and the comfort continues. If anything, I find that the boots now conform to the shape of my feet, which is a blessing in disguise as now I have to do 14 hour shifts daily.

The Cons

While they fit perfectly right out of the box, the boots feel slightly stiff for a couple of weeks. Not that it bruises the ankle or anything but it needs a little getting used to initially. This applies a lot to its slip on nature. The first week, you will find it tougher to slip into these boots than out of them. While these slip on work boots don’t appear too large, you may need a thicker socks to fit snuggly into them.

Style over comfort or comfort over style, regardless, the Timberland PRO Mens 53534 Titan slip on work boots for men is a sure winner. As long as you don’t mind wearing a below ankle length slip on and can overlook its lack of steel toe box, this boot will suit you perfectly. Best of all, you never have to change the footwear even when you do decide to dress a bit more flamboyantly.
